Founded in 1970 with a load of unclaimed baggage from a Washington D.C. bus line, Scottsboro’s Unclaimed Baggage Center is full of all sorts of things waiting to be discovered by you and your family! Truly one-of-a-kind, the Unclaimed Baggage Center boasts treasures from all over the place. The store includes electronics, jewelry, clothing, books, DVDs, items from different countries, sporting goods, and really anything else you could ever think of. If it can be put on a plane, you can find it at the Unclaimed Baggage Center! Definitely put aside a good amount of time to go here, there are many different rooms and thousands of items for you to sift through!
The U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville is great for any science or space enthusiasts in your country. The Space and Rocket Center houses hundreds of pieces of space hardware and equipment valued at tens of millions of dollars. At the Space Center, you can find out more about Huntsville’s role in making the moon rocket, current missions in space, the space race, Apollo missions, and so much more. You can even experience the test firing of an F-1 engine or see original capsules used in past NASA missions. The U.S. Space and Rocket center is definitely worth the trip.
If you are a nature lover, be sure to travel to Huntsville and check out the absolutely breathtaking Huntsville Botanical Garden. Situated on 112 acres of land and open year-round, the garden includes a live butterfly garden, a biblical garden featuring plants mentioned by the bible, a nature trail that passes through an indigenous southeastern lowland forest, a daylily garden, and many more themed gardens that you can enjoy. Definitely not to be missed and a thing of great beauty in northern Alabama!
