Hideaway Ponds – Annual 2021

We are excited to see Mrs. Sheila Hebert as the new Assistant Resort Manager. She has been with OCP for a few years and we are blessed to have her. With the kids back in school and the weather turning quite a bit cooler, things have quieted down at Hideaway Ponds. Currently, we are all liking the heated, indoor pool. Outside of the pool, we are enjoying the candy bar bingo and playing card games with friends in the clubhouse.

Everyone has been busy with the planned activities. We started September with a parade and games at our Labor Day Weekend Celebration and welcomed in the Fall with flea markets, recipe swaps, and socials. October’s Fall Festival brought everyone together to enjoy the camaraderie. Kids enjoyed the trick-or-treating and the carnival games. We definitely ate too much in November with cooking classes and the annual Thanksgiving Potluck.

Warm-up this December at Gumbo Cook-Off where competitors will face off for the title of Best Gumbo. Celebrate the season with Christmas as we reminisce about 2020 and celebrate that the year is over. Bring your pet for a special “Fur Babies Weekend” and bring the kids out to the “Winnie the Pooh Weekend” this February. Will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow on Groundhog Day? Doesn’t matter either way as we’ll enjoy events that weekend.

The team has been working on maintaining the grounds and making some upgrades to the resort. Creating a handicap bathroom in the woman’s bathhouse is one of the upgrades they have been doing. Painting and staining the cabin decks has been another big project. We have a number of enhancements planned for the winter months.
