The park is finally slowing down as the children are headed back to school. The pool is still hedging off the heat from these last few days of summer, but soon, the cooler weather will be blowing through and the leaves will begin to change their color.
We had a fantastic Fourth of July Week. We brought in, sliced, and enjoyed over forty watermelons throughout the week! We had our annual watermelon eating and seed spitting contests that, as usual, were so much fun! The pool stayed busy with plenty of activities and those who just wanted to lounge around and eat their Blue Raspberry snow cones. It was special to see everyone chip in together to raise $250 for the Wounded Warriors, which is near and dear to all of us.
This fall is going to be a blast. In September we will be crowning the 2nd Annual Mr. & Mrs. Hideaway. Bring your spoon and your favorite pot of chili to our annual Chili Cook-Off on September 20th-22nd. The Harvest Festival Bizarre is back on October 4-6 and get your spook-face on for our “Halloween at Hideaway” from the 25th-27th. We have a special Veterans Day planned from the 8th-10th of November, and Thanksgiving Weekend on the 22nd-24th will close out the Fall season as we get ready for Christmas and the New Year.
This summer, we have added a new fence across the front of the property. We have installed two outdoor showers and replaced the speakers around the pool so we now have music. In the clubhouse, we have added a new sound system and we have completed the Gazebo floors. In the fall, we will be building a Veteran’s Wall inside and our pool areas will be getting a new look for our members to enjoy!
