Camping: There’s an app for that

In the old days of camping, it seemed the only thing needed to take on the road was a map to get you from one point to the next. These days, there are so many high-tech items: GPS, phone navigation systems, tablets, and more. With those who do have the high tech items such as laptop computers, smartphones, iPads, and other forms of technology, there are several applications that are available for download that can help you plan your trip as well as offer ideas to enjoy your vacation.

Checklists

For those new on the road, remembering what to bring each trip can take awhile until it becomes a common routine. There are several applications that supply checklists of items to remember. Necessities such as food, bedding, and emergency kits are listed on most of these applications.

Cooking

Cooking while you are camping is different than when cooking in at home. There is less space in the kitchen, or if cooking over a campfire, a completely different style of cooking. The Coleman Camping cookbook is designed for several travel meals. This shares recipes that are designed for all kinds of classic camping ways to cook: on a stove, in a Dutch oven, on the bar-b-que and gas grill, wrapped in foil, over a campfire, and more.

Finding Campgrounds

With thousands of campgrounds across the country, several applications are made to pull-up what resorts are going to be in the route of your upcoming adventure. Applications are able to pull up cost budgets, whether you are tenting or RVing, locations, and amenities available. There are applications for several association companies such as Good Sam, Woodall’s, and more.

Though there are all of these new, high-tech ways of living, don’t forget one of the most classic and important items of camping when you head out: to enjoy the outdoors.
