Hideaway Ponds – Spring 2019

Spring is just around the corner, so if you’re not here at Hideaway Ponds you’re missing out on some great Cajun fun. The park is filled with members passing a good time. Some experienced their first Mardi Gras, while others just kicked back enjoying the sun that decided to show up again. We’ve spent the winter months gearing up for warmer weather and many planned and fun activities.

At our 1st Annual Chili Cookoff we had 10 fantastic entries that filled the air with spices, pepper and onions and other wonderful aromas. We feasted on everything from “too-hot-to-touch” to “sweet and savory”, and a variety of tastes in-between! Our 1st Annual Pie Baking Contest was also a real hit! We had a fierce competition between a father-in-law and a son-in-law. But it was the apple crunch pie that beat out the banana split pie, the chocolate mousse, and the lemon meringue. All those who got a piece were definitely the real winners. What can we say, at Hideaway Ponds we like to eat!

We have a great line up of events coming every weekend this year. In March, you don’t want to miss our “I See Green” St Patrick’s Day Party. We have a Sock Hop and a special Easter planned for everyone in April. In May we will have our Cinco De Mayo Celebration, another great Mother’s Day planned and, of course, a fun-filled Memorial Day Weekend.

If you have recently camped at the resort, you may have noticed some work being done around the resort. In the next few weeks we will be renovating the Family Lodge, inside and out. We’ve also been working hard on a lagoon project which will give us the ability to add newer and larger sites on the park. We will look forward to seeing you down here with us!
