Mountain Lakes Resort and Ocean Canyon are gearing up for the 11th Annual Mountain Lakes Music Festival! The festival starts this Sunday, November 4th and will be going until Saturday, November 10th. On the 4th the festival will be kicked off by local Alabama group Backwoods Revival, and will be closed out on the 10th by Nashville, TN based Blackjack Ridge. All members and guests of members are welcome to join in the festivities! We have many bands booked for the week, as well as many activities planned. Picker’s circle jam sessions will be happening every day at 10am and 2pm in the Eagle’s Nest, so if you play an instrument join on in the music sessions! We will also be having a potluck lunch on Tuesday the 6th at noon, so bring by your favorite dish to share with everyone at the festival. If you enjoy singing, there will be a gospel sing-a-long on Wednesday the 7th 6:30PM at the Rainbow Chapel. All pickers are asked to join in as well. There will be a service following the singing.
On Saturday November 10th there will be a silent auction from 8AM-3PM. Anyone who wants to donate items for the auction should go see Activities Director Sandy Perry.
A different main act will be going on at 7pm every night. Main acts this year include Backwoods Revival, Wills Valley Bluegrass, The Carrell Family, Dewey Wells and the Gary Waldrep Band, Bonnie Ridge Bluegrass, and Blackjack Ridge.
