The weather will soon be cooling off. The pool is more refreshing now than at any other time of the year. There’s a little excitement beginning to buzz from both parents and kids as they start back to school again. We’ll miss the families out here since as we won’t be able to spend as much time with them as we used to.
The activities have been going strong with everyone’s favorite Taco Tuesdays. In June, we were finally able to reopen the pool, and swim time finally started. We enjoyed everyone celebrating this year in our socially distant Watermelon Eating Contest and Parades for the “American Pride Celebration” this July. The kids and a few adults are really loving our new Bike Club to help keep us all moving around.
We kick off the fall with Labor Day weekend events as we celebrate the Great American Spirit. Later this September, bring your best pot of Chili and compete with Louisiana’s best at our “3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off” (Covid willing). October kicks off with Willy Wonka Weekend for our chocolate and candy lovers, and bring the family out to our Fall Bazaar and Harvest Weekend for great family games. November we honor our Veterans along with enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday together.
Scott, Somer, and the team have been very busy this summer. They have been working hard on repairs, remodels, and maintaining the grounds. Be sure to check out the newly remodeled bathhouse. The roads have been worked on along with repairing a roof.
